About

For 145 years, The Colby Echo has told stories. It has chronicled celebrations both of commencements and of Dogheads, shared the tales of groundbreaking discoveries and All-American athletes, and documented accounts from Louise Coburn’s graduation in 1877 to the campus labor strike in 1950, from the Vietnam War protests in 1970 to the “One Colby” protest in 2021. Through these stories, the Echo has preserved more about the College’s history, culture, and student life than any other publication, filling shelves with the stories of those who founded, molded, and advanced our college community.
