Located in downtown Waterville, Maine, Soul Revival has a variety of workout classes, an amazing community, and even a great offer for new clients. Lindsey Beals, owner and founder, opened Soul Revival in March 2022. However, when opening the studio, Beals wanted to create “more than just a space to exercise.” Instead, she wanted “to create community and empowerment through our movement to support our physical, mental, and emotional well-being.”
With over 20 classes all seven days of the week, Soul Revival has “a mix of opportunities” for people, offering a variety of barre classes, mat Pilates practices, and a few different styles of yoga. Classes at the studio are also for all levels: “Each teacher offers ways to modify the practice or deepen the practice depending on what you’re looking for, so you don’t need any prior experience.” However, if you are looking for a good place to start, Beals suggested the barre basics and slow flow yoga classes on Sundays, as these classes “seem to be a nice intro for people, but not where anyone has to begin by any means.”
Soul Revival is also offering a new client intro package where you get 30 days of unlimited classes, so you can try as many classes as you want in that time frame. “If you were to come in and take one class, you might have a wonderful experience, but this opportunity with the 30 days just gives you a real feel of getting into a rhythm,” Beals said. Not only is the package a good opportunity to meet the team and try different styles of classes, but you also get a feel for “the community and the buzz in the room,” which Beals said is “the most special part.”
The studio also has fun events throughout the year, such as an upcoming Somatic Alchemy class on Oct. 25, Back to Soul — an annual bingo game taking place throughout November, a clothing swap, and more.
When asked about the most rewarding part of owning the studio, Beals added, “I keep saying it’s the community. It’s watching people. When someone new walks in the door, when I’m showing them the room, and I’m about to show them the props that they need, people kind of bump me out of the way, and they’re like, ‘Let me show them.’ They welcome them in with open arms. It’s really special.”
However, her other favorite part is “watching people discover what they’re capable of — to watch them grow on their mat, find body awareness, these little ‘aha!’ moments that they have, and watching them get stronger.”
While the new client intro package is $49 for 30 days, the studio is also offering $10 off the package for current students, so show up with your Colby ID for an even better offer. The studio is also looking for two local college students to fill a Student Ambassador position to post and promote the studio on social media platforms in exchange for classes. If you are interested in working with the studio, you can email hello@soulrevivalmaine.com to learn more.
With a great offer running and a variety of classes to try out, take a class or even try the new client intro package at Soul Revival to join a great community while learning yoga, barre, and mat Pilates from amazing instructors.
